AUTHOR BIO

Lorna Schultz Nicholson grew up in St. Catharines, Ontario, and as a child loved to read and write. But then athletics took over and she put it all aside to be a jock. She even went so far as to get her B Sc. in Human Performance from the University of Victoria. With her degree, she worked as the Fitness and Recreation Co-ordinator at UVic where she also coached rowing.

Later, her writing resurfaced in the media arena where she was a co-host and script writer for an aerobic television show in Victoria, B.C. (Think eighties, leg warmers) After moving to Ottawa, Ontario, she moved into the capacity of health and lifestyles reporter for a news show and researcher for a sports show, Donohue's Legends, at CJOH television. Finally, she hosted, produced and wrote all the material for her own syndicated radio show in Ottawa, titled Family Time.

She interviewed quests such as Mary Hart, Betty White, Dr. Joyce Brothers and Barbara Coloroso. As a compliment to her show she started writing an anecdotal column on the perils of raising children. By this time they'd had three. Okay, so let's get to the fiction. After moving to Alberta, (yes, she did a bit of criss-crossing Canada), she did a brief stint at writing magazine articles and a sports column. She also did a brief stint as a community events reporter for a local Calgary radio station. None of that soothed her restless soul. Only when she sat down at her computer to write her fiction did she finally feel peace.

She decided to devote her life to her three amazing children and her fiction writing which includes her mystery novels, children's novels and murder mystery scripts. (Oh yeah, she also loves the stage and has acted in community theatre productions and numerous murder mystery shows.) She still lives in Calgary, near those wonderful Rocky Mountains, with her husband (Bob from Hockey Canada) and her three children, Mandi, Marijean and Grant. Her children are definitely her best critics with her children's books. They have to be good enough for their friends. Oh yeah, they also two dogs, Snowball and Molly and a cat Oscar. Life is good.
